Why do injuries happen?

Dr. Jeremiah Jimerson

IT’S NOT JUST A MATTER OF TREATING SYMPTOMS, BUT SOLVING YOUR WHY

Far too many people waste time and money chasing symptoms. Getting adjustments, countless physical therapy hours, stretching and foam rolling, injections and surgeries while never getting true clarity about WHY their pain happened in the first place – this needs to STOP!

Do you experience headaches in the morning?
Do you get headaches during the daytime?
Do you have frequent migraines?

Over 35 Million Americans suffer from frequent headaches or migraines, despite there being an easy fix for chronic headaches, especially if you live in Charleston.

Frequent headaches or migraines can be caused by multiple imbalances in the neck, shoulder and body. One of the most important things to resolve chronic headaches in record time is to determine what is actually causing the headache in the first place.

While that sounds obvious, patients are amazed how quickly their headaches resolve, even if they have tried migraine medications, previous physical therapy or other chiropractors in Charleston.

While most headaches are caused from tight muscles in the neck or under the skull (called the suboccipital muscles), many things can actually cause those muscles to be tight or scared in the first place.

If your shoulder is tight or you have weaknesses in your shoulder and rotator cuff muscles, that can result in the neck muscles to have to work harder, leading to neck injury and headaches. Some chronic headaches cases are due to mid back and rib tightness which results in instability of the cervical spine or neck and ultimately tight neck muscles and headaches.

Treating symptoms is one thing, finding the root cause of those symptoms SOLVES the problem

The world of pain relief is filled with marketing and massive amounts of myopic thinking. This chiropractor says “a bone is out of place,” that physical therapy office says “just do this 10 pages of exercises” and often the medical approach is to medicate, inject, or cut – sadly, that’s the world that we live in and unlike this website it’s not all black and white.

The fact is, treating symptoms will never result in permanent relief. It’s like duct taping a leaky ceiling. It might look good for a hot minute, but it doesn’t take that long before you wish you hired a better contractor.

After being in the pain and performance world for 20 plus years, my focus today is providing immediate relief, but also being the detective that leaves no stone unturned of showing you how to keep it that way.

Chronic headaches can also be from poor breathing patterns. Ideally we should be breathing with our bellies or diaphragm muscle but often due to stress and poor posture that can result in over working the neck and headache muscles. We breathe 22-24 THOUSAND times a day which can result in overworked neck and headache muscles in a hurry.

Another common cause of chronic headaches is weak eyeball (extra ocular) muscles or the muscles that move your eyeball to look around. This can cause your vision to fatigue while you do computer work or paperwork or drive resulting in poor posture as your body attempts to improve focus by bringing your head closer to the object.

Chronic headaches is one of Dr. Jimerson’s favorite things to treat and has treated and resolved thousands of headaches in minutes in his Charleston and Summerville offices over the past 15 years.
99% of the patients being treated for headaches feel 99% pain and headaches relief within minutes (depending on severity) of their first treatment with most cases resolving in 4-6 treatments no matter what they have tried to treat the headaches previously.

It’s not enough to get a massage in Charleston to treat headaches or get your neck popped or adjusted with Chiropractic or even to have other treatments for headache muscles until you find the cause for the headache muscles to get irritated in the first place.

While Dr. Jimerson has been voted best chiropractor in Charleston, he doesn’t necessarily look at things from a chiropractic perspective and thus avoids unnecessary chiropractic adjustments and x-rays. It is this methodology and his ability to look at injuries from an outside the box perspective that Charleston Orthopedic Surgeons, Physical Therapists and other Chiropractors routinely refer complex and unfixable pain cases to him.
