Why do injuries happen?

Dr. Jeremiah Jimerson

IT’S NOT JUST A MATTER OF TREATING SYMPTOMS, BUT SOLVING YOUR WHY

Far too many people waste time and money chasing symptoms. Getting adjustments, countless physical therapy hours, stretching and foam rolling, injections and surgeries while never getting true clarity about WHY their pain happened in the first place – this needs to STOP!

-Do you have pain when you run?

-Are you dealing with typical running injuries like plantar fasciitis, achilles tendonitis, calf muscles strains, shin splints, IT band syndrome, runners knee, hip pain or back pain during or even after you run?

-Are you looking to improve your running performance? (Decreased running times, effort when you’re running)

Whether you’re training for a marathon, triathlon or run just because, Charleston is home to some amazing races and has a passionate running crowd.

Dr. Jimerson has treated and resolved THOUSANDS of runners and triathletes in Charleston for 15 years in his Summerville and West Ashley offices.

From treating triathletes at the James Island County Park Sprint Series for 6 years to being the goto running injury guru for College of Charleston track and field as well as being a treating physician at Ironman Triathlon races, Dr. Jimerson is no stranger to both typical running injuries as well as weird running injuries that don’t seem to fit the usual definition.

Treating symptoms is one thing, finding the root cause of those symptoms SOLVES the problem

The world of pain relief is filled with marketing and massive amounts of myopic thinking. This chiropractor says “a bone is out of place,” that physical therapy office says “just do this 10 pages of exercises” and often the medical approach is to medicate, inject, or cut – sadly, that’s the world that we live in and unlike this website it’s not all black and white.

The fact is, treating symptoms will never result in permanent relief. It’s like duct taping a leaky ceiling. It might look good for a hot minute, but it doesn’t take that long before you wish you hired a better contractor.

After being in the pain and performance world for 20 plus years, my focus today is providing immediate relief, but also being the detective that leaves no stone unturned of showing you how to keep it that way.

Dr. Jeremiah is my go to for my patients when all else fails

Dr. Robert Schoderbeck – Orthopedist

I know this sounds crazy… I will fly to Charleston to see him… hands down this guy is a healer

Mo Maynor

Dr. Jimerson is OUTSTANDING! As a clinician myself, I appreciate his direction and encouragement… but mostly the RESULTS!

Priscilla Nugent – Physical Therapist

One of our biggest reasons for resolving running injuries so quickly as well as running injuries that have been unable to be resolved by traditional methods such as foam rolling, stretching, Charleston massage, surgery and injections, physical therapy and chiropractic is taking a full body approach to treatment.

You might have pain in your foot, ankle, knee, hip or spine, but due to the biomechanics of running which involves thousands upon thousands of repetitions, your area of dysfunction or root cause of your injury is most often not where you’re having pain.

Most runner’s biggest goals are getting back to running. We realize that not only do many of our runners run for health reasons, they run for the psychological benefits or stress relieving benefits that running affords them.

Our goal is to get you back to enjoying running in the Lowcountry as quickly as possible to avoid loss of performance as well as the stress that not running can cause.

This is why Dr. Jimerson begins every treatment with a full biomechanical exam to determine where the root cause of your running injury stems from.

From there, he uses Active Release Technique, a patented myofascial release technique that breaks down scar tissue and adhesions into muscles, tendons, ligaments and around nerves as well as his own proprietary pain technique that turns off pain and speeds heeling in seconds.

Dr. Jimerson breaks down minimal effort, maximum benefit rehab and physical therapy strategies for you to do at home to get you back running without pain and with increased performance in record time.

While Dr. Jimerson has been voted best chiropractor in Charleston, he doesn’t necessarily look at things from a chiropractic perspective and thus avoids unnecessary chiropractic adjustments and x-rays. It is this methodology and his ability to look at injuries from an outside the box perspective that Charleston Orthopedic Surgeons, Physical Therapists and other Chiropractors routinely refer complex and unfixable pain cases to him.
