Why do injuries happen?

Dr. Jeremiah Jimerson

IT’S NOT JUST A MATTER OF TREATING SYMPTOMS, BUT SOLVING YOUR WHY

Far too many people waste time and money chasing symptoms. Getting adjustments, countless physical therapy hours, stretching and foam rolling, injections and surgeries while never getting true clarity about WHY their pain happened in the first place – this needs to STOP!

Do you have nerve pain?
Do you have pain shooting into your arms, legs, fingers or toes?
Do you have pain that you can’t exactly pinpoint where it comes from?
Do you feel burning, tingling, or numbness?
Have you been diagnosed with sciatica or carpal tunnel syndrome?

Nerve pain and dysfunction (numbness) can severely disrupt your life.

Did you know that it only takes the weight of a dime to cause dysfunction in a nerve?

When nerve are compressed, symptoms such as numbness, tingling, burning and severe pain can result.

Nerves can become entrapped or compressed in muscles, tendons, ligaments, and bones.

Large nerves such as the sciatic nerve can become entrapped as they exit your spine or in anatomical locations such as muscles in your butt like the piriformis muscle, or in your hamstring or calf muscles. Each causing the same radiating pain, burning, tingling or numbness.

Your doctor may diagnose you with carpal tunnel syndrome in which the soft tissue in your wrist can pinch a nerve called your median nerve. This can cause your first 3 and a half fingers to become tingly, weak and numb. What you (and often your doctor may not realize) may not know is that there are a total of 6 different spots going up your arm that the median nerve can become pinched. Each one of these areas can result in the same symptoms as carpal tunnel syndrome.

Superficial nerves can also become entrapped. These tiny little nerves look like little pieces of spaghetti under your skin and can become stuck or entrapped in the fascia under the skin resulting in chronic pain and tightness.

If you’ve tried alternative therapies in Charleston such as chiropractic, massage therapy, physical therapy and acupuncture as well as traditional therapies in Charleston such as medications, injections and surgeries with no results, don’t despair. You may need a different approach that thinks outside of the box.

One big issue with nerve pain is that practitioners don’t often focus on the root cause of why you are actually having nerve pain and instead just treat the nerve symptoms itself.

Treating symptoms is one thing, finding the root cause of those symptoms SOLVES the problem

The world of pain relief is filled with marketing and massive amounts of myopic thinking. This chiropractor says “a bone is out of place,” that physical therapy office says “just do this 10 pages of exercises” and often the medical approach is to medicate, inject, or cut – sadly, that’s the world that we live in and unlike this website it’s not all black and white.

The fact is, treating symptoms will never result in permanent relief. It’s like duct taping a leaky ceiling. It might look good for a hot minute, but it doesn’t take that long before you wish you hired a better contractor.

After being in the pain and performance world for 20 plus years, my focus today is providing immediate relief, but also being the detective that leaves no stone unturned of showing you how to keep it that way.

Dr. Jeremiah is my go to for my patients when all else fails

Dr. Robert Schoderbeck – Orthopedist

I know this sounds crazy… I will fly to Charleston to see him… hands down this guy is a healer

Mo Maynor

Dr. Jimerson is OUTSTANDING! As a clinician myself, I appreciate his direction and encouragement… but mostly the RESULTS!

Priscilla Nugent – Physical Therapist

Dr. Jimerson has multiple advanced techniques to address nerve pain. From determining the root cause of the nerve dysfunction to Active Release Technique, a patented myofascial release technique that breaks down scar tissue in muscles, ligaments, tendons and around nerves.

Active Release Technique also has a component of nerve flossing or nerve gliding. Not only can nerve get pinched as it travels through soft tissue, but nerves can also become “snagged” and unable to pull through tissue. Nerve flossing creates the sliding motion so that it can travel through the soft tissue without getting caught.

Another nerve technique that Dr. Jimerson utilizes is Amino Neuro Frequency therapy. Which utilizes little discs on inflamed nerves to take away pain and inflammation in seconds.

Dr. Jimerson has also developed his own proprietary method at treating nerve dysfunction utilizing acupuncture meridians. While acupuncturists don’t typically utilize these specific meridian points for nerve pain, numbness, tingling and burning… Dr. Jimerson has found these points to be incredibly useful at resolving nerve issues in seconds.

Dr. Jimerson typically begins each treatment with a biomechanical exam to determine where the root cause of your numbness is coming from.

Our goal is to resolve your numbness or nerve dysfunction as quickly as possible.

While Dr. Jimerson has been voted best chiropractor in Charleston, he doesn’t necessarily look at things from a chiropractic perspective and thus avoids unnecessary chiropractic adjustments and x-rays. It is this methodology and his ability to look at injuries from an outside the box perspective that Charleston Orthopedic Surgeons, Physical Therapists and other Chiropractors routinely refer complex and unfixable pain cases to him.
