Why do injuries happen?

Dr. Jeremiah Jimerson

IT’S NOT JUST A MATTER OF TREATING SYMPTOMS, BUT SOLVING YOUR WHY

Far too many people waste time and money chasing symptoms. Getting adjustments, countless physical therapy hours, stretching and foam rolling, injections and surgeries while never getting true clarity about WHY their pain happened in the first place – this needs to STOP!

Do you have neck pain?
Is your neck always stiff and sore?
Do you wake up with neck pain?
Does your neck pain get worse with the day?
Do you get headaches with neck pain?
Have you tried every neck pain treatment in Charleston?

Most neck pain is mechanical in nature. The biggest cause of neck pain is muscle imbalances.

Most of the population is walking around with the same imbalances that lead to neck pain. As modern humans, we spend long periods of time throughout the day in the hunched over position.

We hunch when we drive, watch tv, eat, read, use our cellphones and computers… most jobs require hunching through the day.

There are TWO physiologic LAWS that basically state that all soft tissue adapts to stresses placed on it over time.

In plain English this means that muscles get really good at doing what they do the most. So if we hunch forward all day long, the muscles that pull us forward get short and weak and the muscles that should pull us backwards get stuck in the lengthened position and are also weak.

Imagine that for every inch that our 10 pound heads pull forward, it puts an extra 10 pounds of pressure on our neck muscles for every inch that our head travels forward.

Not only can poor posture result in neck issues, but so can poor breathing patterns.

Most people don’t associate their chronic neck pain with poor breathing habits bit its true.

When we breathe, we should be breathing with our diaphragm muscles in our belly. When we get stressed or spend time in the hunched forward position it becomes difficult for us to breathe properly through our bellies and we have a tendency to breathe apically. Meaning we begin to use our neck muscles to breathe 22-24 thousands times a day. This can result in chronic neck pain as well as tight neck and shoulder muscles, shoulder pain, headaches, stress, anxiety and depression as well as jaw pain.

Weak eyeball muscles can also lead to chronic neck pain and tightness. Most people don’t think about their eyeball muscles when it comes to chronic neck pain and tightness.

Our eyeball muscles can become weak and tight just like the rest of our muscles in our body due to overuse and repetitive strain. When those muscle imbalances begin to occur in our eyeball muscles, we may not realize it but our eyes begin to fatigue over time.

This results in our vision becoming blurred which leads to poor posture as your body begins to lean forward to see things better.

Treating symptoms is one thing, finding the root cause of those symptoms SOLVES the problem

The world of pain relief is filled with marketing and massive amounts of myopic thinking. This chiropractor says “a bone is out of place,” that physical therapy office says “just do this 10 pages of exercises” and often the medical approach is to medicate, inject, or cut – sadly, that’s the world that we live in and unlike this website it’s not all black and white.

The fact is, treating symptoms will never result in permanent relief. It’s like duct taping a leaky ceiling. It might look good for a hot minute, but it doesn’t take that long before you wish you hired a better contractor.

After being in the pain and performance world for 20 plus years, my focus today is providing immediate relief, but also being the detective that leaves no stone unturned of showing you how to keep it that way.

Dr. Jeremiah is my go to for my patients when all else fails

Dr. Robert Schoderbeck – Orthopedist

I know this sounds crazy… I will fly to Charleston to see him… hands down this guy is a healer

Mo Maynor

Dr. Jimerson is OUTSTANDING! As a clinician myself, I appreciate his direction and encouragement… but mostly the RESULTS!

Priscilla Nugent – Physical Therapist

If you’ve done everything to get rid of your chronic neck pain and tension such as massage therapy, chiropractic, physical therapy, acupuncture or even more dramatic neck pain treatments like neck surgery or neck pain injections you may want to focus on the root cause of your neck pain.

Dr. Jimerson has treated and resolved THOUSANDS of neck pain cases in his Charleston and Summerville offices over the past 15 years by focusing on finding out the root cause of each neck pain patient.

Over 90% of his neck pain patients report over 90% improvement within the first visit and most neck pain cases resolving in 4-6 treatments depending on severity of the case.

Our goal is not for you to have to come in for treatment every single week for the rest of your life but to solve your neck pain root cause and help teach you solutions to keep it from coming back.

Dr. Jimerson begins each treatment determining where the root cause of your neck pain is coming from. From there he typically treats affected areas with Active Release Technique, a patented scar tissue treatment that resolves adhesions in the muscles, tendons, ligaments and around nerves that cause muscle imbalances. He also utilizes his proprietary pain technique that gets rid of pain and increases range of motion in seconds.

While Dr. Jimerson has been voted best chiropractor in Charleston, he doesn’t necessarily look at things from a chiropractic perspective and thus avoids unnecessary chiropractic adjustments and x-rays. It is this methodology and his ability to look at injuries from an outside the box perspective that Charleston Orthopedic Surgeons, Physical Therapists and other Chiropractors routinely refer complex and unfixable pain cases to him.
