Why do injuries happen?

Dr. Jeremiah Jimerson

IT’S NOT JUST A MATTER OF TREATING SYMPTOMS, BUT SOLVING YOUR WHY

Far too many people waste time and money chasing symptoms. Getting adjustments, countless physical therapy hours, stretching and foam rolling, injections and surgeries while never getting true clarity about WHY their pain happened in the first place – this needs to STOP!

Does your hand hurt?
Does your hand hurt when you lift or grab?
Do your fingers tingle?
Are you experiencing weakness in your fingers?
Is your hand or fingers stiff and tight?
Does your finger lock?

It can be easy to get stuck with a hand injury living in Charleston as there aren’t many specialties dedicated to treating hand pain in Charleston other than a handful of Physical and Occupational Therapists and some Hand and Finger Orthopedists.

Hand injuries can occur in a number of different ways. Traumatic hand injures that were never treated appropriately. Repetitive strain hand injuries do to your job or hobbies. Hand injuries can severely impair your day to day activities.

Dr. Jimerson has treated thousands of hand injuries over the past 15 years in his Charleston and Summerville offices. One of the most important things to resolving hand pain is to determine how the injury occurred in the first place or what repetitive action may have caused it or is contributing to its inability to heal and become pain free.

Many of the hand muscles are actually in the forearm, but some of the smaller muscles located at in the actual hand can become scarred or injured. Some hand pain is also due to entrapped or pinched nerves in the hand, elbow, shoulder or even neck (even if you don’t necessarily have pain in those areas in the first place).

Treating symptoms is one thing, finding the root cause of those symptoms SOLVES the problem

The world of pain relief is filled with marketing and massive amounts of myopic thinking. This chiropractor says “a bone is out of place,” that physical therapy office says “just do this 10 pages of exercises” and often the medical approach is to medicate, inject, or cut – sadly, that’s the world that we live in and unlike this website it’s not all black and white.

The fact is, treating symptoms will never result in permanent relief. It’s like duct taping a leaky ceiling. It might look good for a hot minute, but it doesn’t take that long before you wish you hired a better contractor.

After being in the pain and performance world for 20 plus years, my focus today is providing immediate relief, but also being the detective that leaves no stone unturned of showing you how to keep it that way.

Dr. Jeremiah is my go to for my patients when all else fails

Dr. Robert Schoderbeck – Orthopedist

I know this sounds crazy… I will fly to Charleston to see him… hands down this guy is a healer

Mo Maynor

Dr. Jimerson is OUTSTANDING! As a clinician myself, I appreciate his direction and encouragement… but mostly the RESULTS!

Priscilla Nugent – Physical Therapist

Treatment for hand injuries is typically fairly easy (depending on severity of the case). Most patients report 90%+ relief of pain even after the first visit (depending on severity of case) and resolve within 4-6 visits without the need to see another physical therapist or orthopedic hand specialist in Charleston.

Dr. Jimerson determines the hand pain’s root cause during the first visit to be able to treat the hand injury more effectively. From there he may do Active Release Technique, a patented scar tissue release that breaks down scar tissue in muscles, tendons, ligaments and around nerves in the neck, shoulder, forearm or hand.

While Dr. Jimerson has been voted best chiropractor in Charleston, he doesn’t necessarily look at things from a chiropractic perspective and thus avoids unnecessary chiropractic adjustments and x-rays. It is this methodology and his ability to look at injuries from an outside the box perspective that Charleston Orthopedic Surgeons, Physical Therapists and other Chiropractors routinely refer complex and unfixable pain cases to him.
