Why do injuries happen?

Dr. Jeremiah Jimerson

IT’S NOT JUST A MATTER OF TREATING SYMPTOMS, BUT SOLVING YOUR WHY

Far too many people waste time and money chasing symptoms. Getting adjustments, countless physical therapy hours, stretching and foam rolling, injections and surgeries while never getting true clarity about WHY their pain happened in the first place – this needs to STOP!

Do you have pain at the side of your hip?

Do you have pain at the outside of your upper leg from your hip to your knee along the thigh?

Do you have hip pain when you sleep on your side?

You may have Trochanteric or Hip Bursitis.

Dr. Jimerson has successfully treated and resolved THOUSANDS of hip bursitis cases over the past 15 years at his offices in Charleston and Summerville. Over 90% of hip bursitis patients report a 90% improvement in the first visit with most bursitis cases resolving in 4-6 visits (depending on severity of the case).

Hip bursitis is caused when the bursa, a fluid filled sac that prevents friction from the muscles of the hip from rubbing on the hip bone.

When the muscles around the hip become too tight, it causes the bursa to become inflamed resulting in bursitis.

Hip bursitis can be caused from:

• An injury to the hip such as falls or bumps or even lying on one side of your body for an extended period of time.

• Repetitive strain from playing or working which can result in overworked and tight muscles around the hip.

• Repetitive activities such as stairs, climbing or standing for longer periods of time.

• Poor Posture
• Recovery from previous injuries or surgeries. Imagine you hurt your ankle on one side of your body, you will compensate to the good side of your body while your ankle heals resulting in extra stress to the good side of your body.

-Previous surgeries

Most people are walking around with chronic hip muscle imbalances and don’t even realize it.

Treating symptoms is one thing, finding the root cause of those symptoms SOLVES the problem

The world of pain relief is filled with marketing and massive amounts of myopic thinking. This chiropractor says “a bone is out of place,” that physical therapy office says “just do this 10 pages of exercises” and often the medical approach is to medicate, inject, or cut – sadly, that’s the world that we live in and unlike this website it’s not all black and white.

The fact is, treating symptoms will never result in permanent relief. It’s like duct taping a leaky ceiling. It might look good for a hot minute, but it doesn’t take that long before you wish you hired a better contractor.

After being in the pain and performance world for 20 plus years, my focus today is providing immediate relief, but also being the detective that leaves no stone unturned of showing you how to keep it that way.

Dr. Jeremiah is my go to for my patients when all else fails

Dr. Jimerson is OUTSTANDING! As a clinician myself, I appreciate his direction and encouragement… but mostly the RESULTS!

Priscilla Nugent – Physical Therapist

Dr. Jimerson starts each hip pain case with an evaluation of where the hip pain case actually stems from. Imbalances across the body can result in hip pain or injury. Dr. Jimerson resolved a chronic hip pain case in a runner sent by the College of Charleston whose hip pain stemmed from her shoulder issues on the opposite side. From there he typically treats affected areas with Active Release Technique, a patented scar tissue treatment that resolves adhesions in the muscles, tendons, ligaments and around nerves that cause muscle imbalances. He also utilizes his proprietary pain technique that gets rid of pain and increases range of motion in seconds. An incredibly common hip imbalance is shortened, tight and weak hip flexor muscles. Your hip flexor brings or flexes your leg up in front of you. You have 2 sets of hip flexor muscles. One attaches from your leg directly to your spine (and can cause lower back and disc injuries resultant) and the other attaches from the leg and goes directly to the front of your hip. Most of the population of Charleston (as well as the rest of the planet) has this issue due to sitting. We, as humans do tons of sitting cumulatively during the course of a day which leads to chronic imbalances of your hip. When one muscle contracts, the opposite muscle neurologically starts to relax. If being in the seated position causes our hip flexors to shorten, our butt muscles neurologically begin to relax or weaken contributing to chronic hip pain and injuries. No matter the cause or what previous treatments you’ve tried for your hip injuries in Charleston, you haven’t tried this methodology before. Over 90% of patients with chronic hip injuries reports feeling over 90% relief of their pain even after the first visit with the majority of hip injuries resolving in 4-6 visits (depending on severity of case and patient compliance with minimal effort maximum benefit home physical therapy exercises). While Dr. Jimerson has been voted best chiropractor in Charleston, he doesn’t necessarily look at things from a chiropractic perspective and thus avoids unnecessary chiropractic adjustments and x-rays. It is this methodology and his ability to look at injuries from an outside the box perspective that Charleston Orthopedic Surgeons, Physical Therapists and other Chiropractors routinely refer complex and unfixable pain cases to him.
